Feature: Teenage Joans – Something About Being Sixteen

Current triple j unearthed high 2020 winners, Adelaide two-piece Teenage Joans are blasting into 2021 with their new single Something About Being Sixteen’.

Accompanied by an epically fun video ‘Something About Being Sixteen’ is the raw and honest Teenage Joans experience. Through the catchy riffs and melodies, the song dynamically rolls in waves, focusing on the emotional turmoil of holding on to a person that shouldn’t be held on to.

Says the band of the track, Something About Being Sixteen’ is undoubtedly Teenage Joans’ great take on the classic coming of age rock tune, generally closing our live sets with audiences singing along every time without fail.”

The duo has announced two co-headline shows with TOWNS for Brisbane and Melbourne in January and will also be playing at Summer Sounds and TEENAGE KICKS festivals.

Since Teenage Joans first burst onto the stage only one year ago, they have left every room they play full of brand new and soon-to-be longtime fans. Not only does this indie/pop-punk powerhouse play beautifully crafted songs that have audiences singing along the first time they hear them, but the songs are as real and important as they are unapologetic. Cahli and Tahlia have a lot to say and they are going to say it, you are going to listen, and nobody is going to stand in their way.
