CLEWS step boldly into a new era of creative independence with their much-anticipated debut album What’s Not To Love?
After navigating change, loss and the messy edges of adulthood, Lily and Grace Richardson hold every form of love up to the light: romantic, familial, and the kind you need to survive yourself.
“We’re releasing music about love at a time when the worst of humanity gets streamed daily into people’s palms. We feel that disconnect in ourselves, in our career, in the world around us. But What’s Not To Love? is sincere, not sarcastic. We were raised to double-down on love, so this album is a testament to the kind of community we are committed to creating.” - Grace Richardson, CLEWS
“Working with producer Ben Stewart (Slowly Slowly), we built the album through collaboration and distance,” adds Lily. “Grace and I were geographically separated during the writing, so there were a lot of verses written over voice notes and song files sent between cities. It makes the album feel instinctive and raw, a snapshot of CLEWS right now: two women thinking honestly about love and connection in what can be cruel times, without smoothing off the edges.”
Now independent, self-managed and proudly calling their own shots, CLEWS have distilled years of resilience into a defiant and celebratory debut album built on one foundational belief: a reminder that love can still be found around every corner.
Sonically, the record delivers the telepathic chemistry, cinematic songwriting and blood-tight harmonies that have become their signatures.
CLEWS debut album 'What's Not To Love' is available to stream now.
