FEATURE: Abby Wallace - Atlantic Blue

Throughout sweeping verses and a chorus that distends like a deep breath, Abby Wallace unpacks the dissonance of craving closeness while fearing its consequences on new her new release Atlantic Blue.
Anchored by warmly shimmering production, classic folk sensibilities, and a vocal performance that balances quiet vulnerability with clarity and control, the track unfolds gently, like a confession whispered underwater.
“Atlantic Blue’ is about plunging into the ocean. The verses chronicle an internal chaos–an unrelenting internal dialogue about my relationship to intimacy, the complexity of yearning for a thing (in this case connection) while simultaneously being completely averse to it. The chorus is about finding peace–breaking the surface and landing on a moment of reprieve. This centrepoint of the song speaks to my enduring relationship with the ocean as a place of safety and reprieve. A felt sense of relief. How the welcome, wet weight of leaving one world and slipping into another is something I have returned to again and again, since childhood.”
- says Abby of the track.
Produced by the acclaimed John Castle (Angie McMahon, Vance Joy), Abby draws both sonic and lyrical inspiration from the likes of Samia, Maggie Rogers, and Tori Amos. She walks a tightrope between fragility and fearlessness, knitting raw introspection with warm, expansive production. There’s a vividly nostalgic edge to her sound in the way she harnesses a yearning romanticism, but tempered with a sharp, lived-in lyricism.
