Our Golden Friend x Collective Artists Indie-Con Party

Record label and artist management company Our Golden Friend and boutique booking agency Collective Artists have joined forces to present a free showcase as part of night one of AIR (Australian Independent Record Labels Association) Indie-Con which is held annually in Adelaide. The showcase will take place on Wednesday 31 July at Cry Baby in Adelaide.

The night features solo performances from Romy Vager (RVG), who will be playing select songs from RVG’s 2023 Australian Music Prize winning album Brain Worms and Queenie, a fearless performer who wears her heart on her sleeve. With a host of indie singles released over the last year coupled with dozens of shows across Australia, Queenie is stealing hearts and taking names

It will also feature a solo set from up-and-coming Adelaide artist Effie Isobel whose celestial and honeyed lyrics draw inspiration from community and the human ache for closeness. Their punchy debut single ‘Lip Balm’ received attention from triple J Unearthed, ahead of their second single ‘Peach Hurt’ which was released at the start of the month.

South Australian band Coldwave will headline, bringing their three-time South Australian Music Award nominated sound to the stage. Blending a buzz-saw twin guitar attack, booming horns, uncompromising vocals and a high-octane live set, Coldwave have asserted themselves in Adelaide’s music community over the last three years and will be a high energy end to the night.

The party will take place on the first night of Australia’s leading independent music conference, Indie-Con Australia which is running from 31st July to 2nd August in Adelaide. The 2024 Indie-Con program will welcome a host of international and domestic speakers and will discuss challenges and opportunities faced by Australian independent labels and the music industry at large.

The gig is free entry and open to the public but AIR Indie Con conference pass holders will be given priority entry. Conference passes can be purchased here.
