Feature: Ainslie Wills – Pink EP
The Pink EP is an intimate, stripped-back offering from Ainslie Wills.
Humble by nature, she has been working tirelessly behind the scenes on building a full-time, independent music career with a small team around her.
Based in regional Victoria, Ainslie took it upon herself to create this 4-track EP with a select few collaborators.
She has delivered the EP in the way she knows best – sitting behind the piano, playing and singing. The EP covers the nuances of love, loss, relationships and the human condition.
Ainslie is a quiet achiever who has gathered an army of lifelong converts, including those within the Australian arts industry. She has been admired by an array of Australian artists and championed globally through her touring achievements.
“It is an ode to coming back to oneself” says Ainslie when describing the EP.
This year Ainslie won second place in the prestigious Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition, for her co-write with Budjerah ‘Ready for the Sky’.
It is now, in her early 40’s and after recently becoming a mother, that Ainslie has proudly become a full-time career artist. Ainslie has never been signed to a record label and has released everything independently (via AWAL) to date. She has carved out a career for herself and taken her loyal following on the journey. This year her music is reaching new heights.
