Melbourne, Australia – Alternative-soul’s pre-eminent shining star, 19-year-old Wilson Blackley today announces label, management and booking agency signings with THAA Records, Ecstatic! Management and Select Music, respectively. This follows the recent release of his debut single ‘Home’ — produced by Grammy Award nominated producer Sam Teskey (of The Teskey Brothers).
Recorded in The Teskey Brothers’ Half Mile Harvest Studios in the lush, picturesque Victorian town of Warrandyte, Blackley’s debut single ‘Home’ saw him work with Grammy Award-nominated co-producer and engineer Sam Teskey. “I didn’t have to listen to this song twice for it to immediately stick with me, it sucked me right in”.
Speaking on the lyricism behind ‘Home’;
“I wrote ‘Home’ in a state of transience within myself. Battling with anxiety about the state of my ego and creative motivation, I had to create a mantra within myself about reconnecting with the true reason behind why I play music and why I want to express myself through it. This song is about saying goodbye to my ego, and grieving the parts of myself that I’d lost on the way…” Blackley reflects.
